Neil Magny stepper inn som erstatter for Matt Brown og møter Kelvin Gastelum 21. november i Mexico.
With Matt Brown forced out of his UFC Fight Night 78 main event against Kelvin Gastelum due to an injured ankle, Neil Magny is stepping in as a late-notice replacement.
UFC officials today announced the change.
UFC Fight Night 78 takes place Nov. 21 at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The card airs on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Magny (16-4 MMA, 9-3 UFC) is no stranger to stepping up on late notice. He recently earned a split-decision victory over Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night 74 in his previous bout. The fight took place fewer than 30 days after a UFC 190 loss to Demian Maia. In Gastelum (11-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC), Magny may be in for the stiffest test of his career.
Magny’s loss to Maia snapped a seven-fight winning streak, but the win over Silva got him back on the winning track heading into this newest opportunity.
He teased the announcement on Twitter hours before the UFC made it official.
